Message from the President

I am honored to announce that I have been appointed as the Representative Director, President and Executive Officer of Skymark Airlines. I humbly ask for the support of all our stakeholders as I take on this new role.

It has been ten years since Skymark completed civil rehabilitation proceedings in 2016. The past decade has by no means been a smooth path, as we have faced numerous challenges including the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, exchange rate fluctuations and high fuel prices.
However, even under such difficult circumstances we continued to pursue providing high operational quality, which is at the foundation of our service. As a result, we ranked first place for six consecutive years (FY 2017-22) among the on-time performance rates published by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT). Furthermore, we were also recognized four times (FY 2020, 2022-2024) as the leader in customer satisfaction according to the Japanese Customer Satisfaction Index (JCSI) survey, which is carried out by the public interest incorporated foundation, Japan Productivity Center’s Service Productivity & Innovation for Growth (SPRING) organization.
This is the result of our more than 2,000 employees transcending departmental boundaries to combine their strengths and work as One Team even in such a challenging business environment.

We are currently working on the introduction of the new Boeing 737-8 and Boeing 737-10 aircraft to our fleet. These new aircraft simultaneously reduce environmental impact and costs with their excellent fuel efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions. We are confident that our accomplishment of this, our largest-scale mission yet, will lead to a great leap forward for us.

The environment surrounding the aviation industry in recent years has been extremely challenging. It is in this context that we will further enhance our unique strengths of affordable fares and simple, high-quality service. Also, we will steadily and boldly drive efforts that include building an efficient operations system and optimizing our route networks, as well as create resilient management practices that will lead to the next stage of our growth, all so that customers will continue to select us as the most accessible choice.

Our company embodies the spirit of co-creation and collaboration with all our employees working as One Team towards a goal. Based on a solid foundation of safety, Skymark will work as a unified team to overcome these challenging times and push ahead into the future.

I experienced both the wonder and harshness of the sky through gliding competitions during my student years, and it has been a constant companion to me over much of my life. As the new Representative Director, President and Executive Officer, I will pour all my experience and enthusiasm for aviation into blazing the way towards a new future for Skymark, an airline favored by our customers and partners.
